My daughters christening ceremony was last Sunday. I made her a cake and decorated it with MM fondant, a little pink butter cream and the Royal Icing flowers that I made last week. I was going to write her name on the cake but failed terribly. So this is what I ended with. Well practice makes perfect... right?

I also made her cupcakes decorated with pink butter cream and drop flowers.

Remember when I said I needed to practice my piping? Well I did...
I made a huge batch of Royal icing and practiced making flowers. I watched a few videos on YouTube before I started and this is my result...

and some drop flowers.

These are intended for my daughters christening cake.... What do you think?

Well... my first assignment for this blog was to make a gingerbread house. This is my first attempt to make one from scratch, but I had a little help from my 4 year old daughter, Helena. We are pretty pleased with the result. But I could definitely do with a little practice in piping.... Okay, maybe a lot :)

We used royal icing for most of the decorations, like the pink "paint", the trees and the piping around the windows. The door is from chocolate, the roof shingles are made of mentos and the door handles and walkway are made of tiny candy coded chocolates.
